James Lenaghan trained at the prestigious London School of Sports Massage in Regents Park College gaining his diploma as a Sports and Remedial Massage Practitioner in 2005. James is also a qualified and highly experienced personal trainer working in the health fitness industry since 1997. Using the skill base he has learned along with the years of practical experience makes James a more rounded and thorough health professional in being able to deal his clients requirements.

 

James’s work ethic is applied knowledge is key. Having the benefit of being able to train with some of the best health and fitness professionals in their field James uses the techniques he has learned to aid in his patient’s requirements. James is extremely passionate about his work and believes sharing his knowledge with his patients is essential, therefore giving them useful information of the treatment he is doing and why he is doing it. This James feels gives them a better understanding in being able to manage their own health.

 

Sports massage is not all about helping recovery it can also be a useful tool in prevention of injuries. From releasing muscular tension and stress from everyday work and living to being used in a sports specific environment to aid in optimal performance, sports massage is a versatile tool in achieving good health.

 

With an approachable and down to earth personality James has the ability to assess and understand his clients requirements. Being calm and relaxed by nature James makes his clients feel comfortable and therefore is able to treat them with the utmost confidence they deserve.

Profile: Abigail Fudge

Abigail Fudge

Qualifications

Abi is a qualified in Sports Massage Therapy and is in her third year of studying to be an Osteopath on a Masters degree at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Since qualifying Abi has specialised in Sports Massage by working with Windsor, Slough Eton and Hounslow Athletic Clubs National Teams at athletic competitions and with a charity at the London Marathon.  Her interest in athletics comes from a life-long affiliation with the sport originating with her mother having competed at Commonwealth and World Level. Abi herself has competed at County level and competed in National Finals at Young Athlete and Junior Level. For the past four years Abi has also been involved with coaching children in athletics.

Other interests Abi has from her sporting background are ballet and swimming. During her time training in these sports, Abi has come across a wide variety of aches and pains, which is where her interest in sport injuries and helping people started.

By using soft tissue release techniques, Muscular energy techniques (MET ) and Neuromuscular techniques (NMT) along with exercise prescription, Abi believes that the principles of soft tissue technique help restore perfect function post work out and aid in the prevention of injuries.

With the combination of practising Sports Massage and studying Osteopathy, Abi understands the needs of the patients to be treated as individuals and put into practice her growing knowledge of human biomechanics.

When Abi is not working or studying, she can be found at the gym or running track and is more than happy to answer any questions and help you out.

Profile: Rachael Owen

Rachael Owen

Qualifications

  • Sport and Remedial Massage Diploma, London School of Sports Massage
  • BA Dance Science, Middlesex University
Rachael originally graduated with a Dance Science Degree and almost immediately after completing her degree, she went on to study for a Sports and Remedial Massage Diploma with the London School of Sports Massage.

As an avid dancer she developed a fascination with posture and movement of the human body, her knowledge and experience from the dance world combined with her massage skills are a great combination for sports and remedial massage therapy.

Last winter, Rachael worked in a sports injury clinic in the top Austrian ski resort of St Anton.  Treating skiers and snowboarders of all levels, her knowledge and expertise were put to full use!
Now herself an avid skier, Rachael also enjoys swimming, cycling and running in her spare time.
