Qualifications
Abi is a qualified in Sports Massage Therapy and is in her third year of studying to be an Osteopath on a Masters degree at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Since qualifying Abi has specialised in Sports Massage by working with Windsor, Slough Eton and Hounslow Athletic Clubs National Teams at athletic competitions and with a charity at the London Marathon. Her interest in athletics comes from a life-long affiliation with the sport originating with her mother having competed at Commonwealth and World Level. Abi herself has competed at County level and competed in National Finals at Young Athlete and Junior Level. For the past four years Abi has also been involved with coaching children in athletics.
Other interests Abi has from her sporting background are ballet and swimming. During her time training in these sports, Abi has come across a wide variety of aches and pains, which is where her interest in sport injuries and helping people started.
By using soft tissue release techniques, Muscular energy techniques (MET ) and Neuromuscular techniques (NMT) along with exercise prescription, Abi believes that the principles of soft tissue technique help restore perfect function post work out and aid in the prevention of injuries.
With the combination of practising Sports Massage and studying Osteopathy, Abi understands the needs of the patients to be treated as individuals and put into practice her growing knowledge of human biomechanics.
When Abi is not working or studying, she can be found at the gym or running track and is more than happy to answer any questions and help you out.
