Our Gait-Scan™ system is a revolutionary diagnostic tool for assessing our client's biomechanics and making sure the shoes and trainers they use are adequate and not causing any problems. GaitScan™ has an industry high 4096 sensors and scans at an industry high 300Hz (scans per second). These measurements provide us with a sophisticated explanation of foot mechanics and assists us with orthotic and/or shoe solutions.
TOG Gait-Scan™ is the most technologically advanced gait analysis system available. However it does not compare to how sophisticated your foot is. Whilst we use the GaitScan™ system to assess foot biomechanics, we also have a Podiatrist working with us to make sure the correct options are chosen.
Because TOG Gait-Scan™ is the most technologically advanced gait analysis system available it is suitably placed to accurately measure how your foot functions during the gait cycle. There is currently few other methods that can be used to look underneath your foot whilst it is moving and accurately feedback to the practitioner and client what happens during each phase of the gait cycle.
Your gait scan appointment will involve a thorough history taking and medical screening to make sure you are suitable for gait scanning and subsequent orthotic prescription. You will need to walk over the gait scan several times to get an average reading of your gait cycle in bare feet. This will allow the force plate to read the bottom of your feet and make an accurate analysis of your foot motion, subsequently the practitioner will talk you through step by step and show you what should be happening at each phase by giving you computer models of the perfect gait (or as close to it as possible!)
