Sports Injury Treatment

At Perfect Balance Clinic we concentrate on the diagnosis and treatment of problems related to altered body mechanics, function and posture. We aim to help the body return to a state of optimal health, whatever the potential of that person at that time. Clients primarily consult us with their body expressing the memory of previous trauma, be it physical, psychological, or as is often the case, a combination of the two. This usually manifests itself as muscular tension and is experienced as pain.

Mobility of the body is of the utmost importance to the sports person. Poor flexibility in the joints and muscles will prevent the body from performing at its optimum and is often a contributory element to injury. By assessing the posture and condition of those structures which make the human body a dynamic machine (the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues), we are able to promote a rapid recovery from injury.

Perfect Balance Clinicians can help prevent as well as treat injuries. We find we are particularly effective for sports that require controlled body mechanics such as golf and tennis, although we work with professional football teams and other organisations as well. We work alongside Consultants and GPs in returning sports people back to their peak performance. All our practitioners have time to listen to their patients and consider problems that may seem quite divorced, and yet are realistically pertinent to that clients overall well-being. We believe it is our work to recognise and diagnose the cause of these symptoms, eliminating by a thorough medical examination any pathology which requires referral, and set about the process of restoring a degree of healthy functioning to the whole body by means of hands-on treatment and deeply intuitive care. Responsibility is ultimately returned to the patient in terms of exercise and lifestyle. Professional advice concerning this helps the patient maintain this recovered state of optimal health, we then remain a source of ongoing support and direction as required for the competitive sports competitor.
