Sports Massage

Welcome to our Sports Massage services.

We hope you find the following information useful on the Sports Massage services at the clinic.  Most of the time the type of people that use this service have found us through the internet after being recommended to see a sports massage practitioner about their tight muscles.  We also see people that have been recommended for sports massage from another therapist because they need a deeper more accurate treatment.  A sports massage practitioner can help with most muscular aches and pains as well as remedial work on muscles to help improve performance and reduce recovery time after injury.  We find that the sports masseurs form a distinct and important part of our team.  Sports massage practitioners work within our team to help speed up recovery from injury.  They may prescribe you basic stretches to help with loosening tight muscles.  If you need any more information on sports massage services at the clinic then please either phone us or email us free and we will be happy to answer your podiatry and chiropody related questions.

Listed Below are some useful FAQ's that people looking for Sports Massage services have asked before they come in for an appointment.

97% of our clients feel an improvement in their first session

We pride ourselves in our ability to make a change quickly with our unique and highly effective approach.  This means that you can quickly get to the bottom of whats causing your pain, get treatment for this and leave feeling much better.

We are also honest, so if like the 3% of people that we referred back to their GP, we can't help you immediately we will tell you.  By sending you to the right place to deal with your problem we ensure a speedy recovery.  It wouldn't be right to say 100% of our clients felt better from what we did, but actually our ability to know what we can and can't treat makes sure you are safe and in the right place to recover from your injury.

My First Session

So you decide to make the decision of coming to see us, this is what happens in your first session.

In your first session your clinician will greet you and begin by asking what brings you to the clinic.  From here you will begin to go through a detailed case history which doesn't really take long, but is essential to see what we are dealing with.  Once your clinician has taken enough details they will then carry out an examination in all cases, to make sure your symptoms match with any clinical signs that they can use to isolate the cause of the problem.

Before getting on with treatment the clinician will then explain in terms you can understand what the cause of the problem is.

After the examination and reporting process is complete your clinician will carry out treatment to make sure you receive the full service.

Ideally you should come with suitable clothing/underwear so that an accurate diagnosis of the problem can be made.  Usually sports wear such as a pair of shorts and a vest or sports bra are suitable.  We want you to feel comfortable, this is a priority.  If you'd like to bring someone along such as a chaperone then thats fine too.  We are very friendly but we understand that it can be a bit nerve racking going to your first appointment.

If you have any questions then please don't hesitate to contact us directly

Should I see a Physio first?

Our Sports Massage Practitioners are training to take a full history from you when you come in to help formulate the best form of treatment for you.  We make sure they attend regular training to ensure we maintain our standards with regards to their background knowledge and also their hands on experience.

In some circumstances the sports massage therapist will advise that you see one of the medical staff either the Physiotherapist or the Osteopath which will help with the diagnosis and further management of the condition.
