Sports Therapy
Our sports therapists are an integral part of our team and your recovery from sports injuries. At Perfect Balance Clinics we are able to utilise the experience of our sport specific therapists who specialise in general sports injuries, dance injuries and running injuries. They are able to utilise the principles of sport and exercise sciences incorporating knowledge of physiological and pathological processes to prepare you to return to active sport, training and where applicable work.
Our Sports therapists are trained in Electrotherapy (Ultrasound) and Hydrotherapy (training in the swimming pool) which make them unique in their fields and a very useful addition to our team.
Over the years Sports Therapy has progressed from just treating 'injured athletes', to dealing with many common muscular complaints such as back pain, mobility problems, postural problems and work related conditions.
At Perfect Balance Clinic our sports therapists helps injured athletes return to full functionality, after injury. Injuries treated vary according to the sport or activity involved. Clients include professional and amateur sports people, people who keep fit for fun, and accident victims. A qualified Sports Therapist advises on prevention of injuries and can examine, assess and treat those that do occur, as well as helping with the rehabilitation process.
At the moment in the UK, Sports Therapy is unregulated, a situation that is currently changing, with new Statutory Regulations being developed. Anyone can call themselves a Sports Therapist, or Sports Masseur, without even having a qualification. Usually these people are uninsured, we make sure that all our therapists and clinicians are covered with the same level of insurance and carry accreditation and qualifications to make sure they can do what they say they can.
All STO members are qualified, fully insured, trained in emergency first aid, and are bound by the STO Code of Conduct.
