PHYSIOTHERAPIST & PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Claire Chaplin
I have always loved sport and exercise and I have participated in many sports and had injuries myself. Studying through University I loved learning about the body and how to get the best sporting performance.
This lead me to complete a degree in Physiotherapy, as I have a particular interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation from everyday aches and pains to sporting injuries.
After qualification in 2010, I worked with a number of local sports teams including football and rugby teams. For five years I enjoyed working in the NHS. I completed hospital rotations, worked on the orthopaedic ward, cared for the elderly, for children with learning disabilities as well as for outpatients with musculoskeletal problems, and also worked in community physiotherapy . This has given me an in-depth understanding of other medical issues that sometimes limit recovery or that mean rehabilitation needs to be adapted to each individual.
Over the last five years I have specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and have gained experience treating a variety of issues from postural muscle imbalances to injuries from the acute to chronic stages.
Other treatments within physiotherapy which I use include muscle rehabilitation, strengthening, stretching, proprioception training, one-to-one APPI Pilates exercises, manual therapy, ultrasound, taping, K-taping, massage, ergonomics assessment, acupuncture and dry needling.
For over three years I have taken exercise classes for shoulder and back rehabilitation and osteoarthritis groups, with great feedback.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. I regularly attend evening lectures and courses to make sure my current practice and skills are up-to-date and evidence-based.
I have experience working with clients who have suffered from persistent or recurrent pain. I have a special interest in musculoskeletal issues and injuries of all levels, injury prevention and rehabilitation back to an active lifestyle. I believe in a holistic approach to recovery, incorporating the mind and body and other professionals if required to get the best results for the client.
Some of my personal interests are sports, animals and going to music festivals and concerts.

Claire was excellent. Listened to my problem and after a deep tissue massage and taping she got me to the start of the half marathon raring to go, and my Achilles gave me no problem throughout. Would definitely recommend.

I had been suffering with pain in my foot (plantar fasciitis) for several months. Within 3 sessions with Claire my foot was so much better, I was given great advice, the treatment was professional and I am very grateful. Thanks so much.

Perfect balance has been very professional throughout my treatment, there is no massive waiting list and I feel like the treatment has been helping since day one. Claire is a great physio and would highly recommend her to anyone.

Having suffered for a few years with increased shoulder problems and having visited a few other physio’s, I booked an appointment with Claire. Within 10 mins Claire was able to pinpoint the root of the problem and get straight to work. My shoulder is now close to being back to full strength and I have no doubt that after a couple more sessions will be good as new. I then went to Claire with a 6 year Squash injury on my ankle which had really flared up. On that day, I went in hobbling with pains to my knee and hip, one session with Claire and the next day, no pain in my ankle, knee or hip. Absolutely fantastic and cannot recommend her more highly, she’s a little miracle worker!

My daughter had a netball injury and we originally saw Claire Chaplin who was very good.

I was suffering from shoulder pain. I was treated by Claire Chaplin who was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough with my treatment. Following 4 weeks of pain I am glad to say my shoulder is in good working order, allowing me to get back to work and training. I would like to thank Claire for her first class help and advice and would have no hesitation recommending her and the Perfect Balance Clinic.

Claire is very good and very professional, she is helping me get over a very bad broken femur.

Very pleased with the treatment I received. I had been suffering from a lower back problem and visited Claire who quickly diagnosed the problem and provided me with the treatment and information I needed. Over the course of 3 sessions my back massively improved and was able to resume normal training. Would definitely recommend.

Claire was allocated as my physio and she is incredible beyond words. She has taken time and care to fully understand the problem I was facing and has resolved the issue, which to date I was advised was not resolvable. Even with the restrictions related to Covid-19 she provided regular thorough support, providing web sessions to run through exercises and management techniques as well as check on progress. I have felt cared for and supported, and would not hesitate on recommending Claire and Perfect Balance Clinic!

Claire has been treating me for ankle ligament damage which is disrupting my hockey season. She has been very supportive and thorough in her treatment plan whilst giving me a realistic expectation of my recovery time. Wouldn’t think twice in recommending her.

I had my knee brace fitting yesterday, really pleased with it. Really impressed at your and the Perfect Balance Clinic’s service, absolutely first rate!

Had hamstring pain for several months. Just 4 hands-on sessions and the cause was identified and “ironed out”. Next time I hope to go for a preventative massage rather than wait for something to go wrong!

As it stands I’m up to 12.5k and running faster than I expected and with no soreness or issues anywhere. Thanks to Claire for all the advice and treatment, and for understanding my desperate need to run/walk as much as I could while managing my weight loss and the rehab.
