About Jennifer Williams

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science to promote health, peak performance and individual care. Not everyone that I work with has specific symptoms, many feel that they need guidance in changing their diet and eating better. As a Registered Nutritional Therapist, I am able to work with these individuals to help them make sense if their diets, improve overall health and wellbeing, aiding them in feeling healthier and more energetic with better sleep, and small aches and niggles disappearing.

For those with specific symptoms, I follow the Functional Medicine model to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances to address the root cause of symptoms, rather than offering symptom relief. I am qualified in using diagnostic testing that may be used to investigate underlying causes of symptoms. I may also recommend specific supplements for short term use.

I have professional registration with CNHC and membership of BANT and The Institute for
Functional Medicine

Conditions that I have supported clients with include:
• Digestive issues
• Hormones – thyroid, PMS, adrenal
• General fatigue
• Autoimmune conditions
• Musculoskeletal support
• MCS, Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia
• Alzheimer’s Disease
• Sports nutrition
• Weight – both difficulties losing and gaining weight
• Food Intolerances
• Student nutrition – advising students how to eat well in a budget whilst away from home

I see clients on a one-to-one basis motivating them to achieve their health goals. Nutritional programmes are planned in collaboration with the client to ensure that they are realistic, practical and effective.

Past experience / employment

I initially qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1990 at St. James’s University Hospital Leeds and subsequently worked as a Staff Nurse on the Plastic Surgery ward at the same hospital, this was where I really became interested in health promotion and disease prevention.

I went on to qualify and work as a Health Visitor, including a role as Specialist Health Visitor for the Elderly in Worcester

I decided to retrain as a Nutritional Therapist having experienced the difference dietary changes made to my own and my son’s health.

For me, being a Registered Nutritional Therapist is a perfect marriage between my passions of nutrition and health promotion.
