About Richard Sheridan

Richard Sheridan was appointed consultant obstetrician &gynaecologist at West Herts Trust in 1991. He left after 24 years as the senior consultant to concentrate on his private practice. He looks after both pregnant women whom he delivers at Queen Charlotte’s& Chelsea Hospital and also has a large gynaecological practice.

FRCS – Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh 1985
FRCOG – Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians &Gynaecologists, London 1999

Previous experience / employment

Richard Sheridan trained at Guy’s Hospital with postgraduate training in Southampton, then Queen Charlotte’s& Chelsea, Guy’s Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital in London. His research interests were in genetics and prenatal diagnosis and recently in diabetic pregnancy and thyroid disease in pregnancy.

He is an examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians &Gynaecologists and an ex-vice president, secretary and treasurer of the obstetrics & gynaecology branch of The Royal Society of Medicine. He is a member of the British Menopause Society and has lectured internationally and has written for various medical and non-medical publications.
