Past experience / employment

I think my three qualifications make me quite a unique professional within the Midwifery and Osteopathic field. I gained extensive experience within Midwifery since qualifying in 2002, which makes me an ideal medical professional to consult. I trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) and gained a Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma in Naturopathic Medicine.

I currently lecture Clinical Methods for Osteopathic Students at BCOM and have done over the last 8 years. I have also gained Cranial Osteopathic experience and I have studied foundation courses in this field. I have completed the ALSO course (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics), and I have studied with Deborah Robertson on the LEAARC-approved IBLCE course (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners). Breastfeeding challenges are an area I enjoy working with and have great success with women who felt like giving up.

I also have experience with working with clients who have suffered from chronic and recurrent pain.
I aim to have a very sensitive and friendly approach to treating clients and maintain my professional integrity at all times. My interests within the professional field include not only Obstetrics, but also Paediatrics and I have also spent a short period of time at the Osteopathic Centre for Children on their MSc programme. Working at Watford General Hospital on the delivery suite and birth unit has allowed me to communicate and liaise with members of a multidisciplinary team. My experience is very specialist within the antenatal and immediate postnatal period.

My goals are to provide each client with individualised osteopathy care and I’m more than happy to share my knowledge and experience so that each and every person who enters my osteopathy clinic is empowered and motivated to become fitter, healthier and more aware of the functioning body.

“I cannot recommend Sara Randall enough to new parents who have babies that can’t settle or new mothers’ who are finding breastfeeding challenging! We took our five week old baby to her as I had a difficult labour and, at 5 weeks, he was unsettled, had colic and was also finding it hard to have long feeds. Not only did she really help our baby as a cranial osteopath she also helped me with my breastfeeding technique. I had a different happy baby after the session and I felt so much more confident with my breastfeeding. We only needed one follow up session before she discharged us. Her advice, support and professionalism was amazing! I highly recommend her to new parents. Thank you so much Sara for all your help and advice!

“I feel that the overall service I received excelled my expectations. Both the professionalism and variety of the sessions were not only helpful but enjoyable. All credit goes to Sara – she fixed me at a time when all doctors couldn’t! I genuinely mean this when I say this was a life changer – I count my lucky stars every day that Sara could help me so thank you.”

“Sara (magic boob lady as she’s known amongst our mums group!) was a lifesaver when I had my second bout of mastitis. She was able to see me the next day and used an ultrasound on it which was pain free and cleared the blockage without me spending hours massaging an already painful area. I’d recommend it to anyone and certainly will be back at the first sign of a blocked duct again. As for Sara she really cares about making things better and trying to help you on your breastfeeding journey however she can.”

“Exceptional service and amazing people. Highly recommend this clinic especially Sara Randall. Very helpful and understanding.”

Jade Sprinks

“We visited Sara Randall twice for Cranial osteopathy at Perfect Balance as my young son (6 weeks old) suffered with extremely bad colic. Since the two sessions we have seen a huge improvement in him which has made him a much happier baby. We found Sara friendly and professional and her extensive knowledge has helped us in all aspects of his feeding and winding. We cannot thank her enough for how much she has helped us.”

Tizzy Dunderdale

“I took my 8 week old baby to see Sara Randall at the clinic as he was suffering from signs of colic, waking each night between 3am and 7am with stomach cramps and severe wind. I was not sure if cranial osteopathy would work but after weeks of no sleep and having tried all sorts of remedies, I wanted to give it a go. I was delighted when my son showed signs of improvement after only one session and after two sessions was completely relieved of the colic symptoms. Sara is extremely knowledgeable and professional and I would highly recommend this service to anyone whose baby is proving difficult and unsettled in the early months.”

Aoife Webster

“I saw Sara with traumatised nipples, one of which had been previously inverted. Both nipples were red, bloody, raw and very sore, causing breast feeding to be very difficult. Both nipples were treated with K laser, which both reduced the pain and increased the healing which enabled me to maintain breast feeding. Over a period of a few weeks I noticed a significant improvement, with both nipples pain free and no longer red or weeping. My only regret is that I didn’t see her earlier, though Im sure that breastfeeding in following pregnancies, will now be a much more positive experience.”

“We wanted our baby checked out as he was born with the assistance of forceps and had been unsettled. Sara did an in-depth analysis of his first session and suggested what we could work on when we took him home which we did. For the second session, Sara provided more treatment and we explained how the past week had been. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided some really useful information. I would recommend Sara to anyone needing treatment for their baby.”

Denise Austin

“I’m a long distance/endurance runner suffered from my first big injury this year and went to see the team in St Albans and have been in top shape since. My ankle is as good as ever and I’ve run over 250k without a problem. Will be using the services and skills in preparation for some major races next year. Thanks to Aaron Sara and Steve.”

Terry Stoodley

“Quite possibly the best clinic in Hertfordshire. Have seen many people there over the years but I’m especially drawn to Sara who makes my body feel supple and injury free almost immediately!! No pressure to to return and soooo much advice, help and support given! Thanks Sara.”

Clare Penning

“I cannot recommend Perfect Balance highly enough, I visited them with my twin girls when they were just a few weeks old, they and in turn me and my husband had been struggling since they were born, they cried all the time and had a large number of colic like symptoms. Sarah Randall was fantastic she assessed both girls to see if they was anything she could do to help. Being twins there wasn’t much room in the womb and my girls needed straightening out, this in turn released pressure on their little tummies, which stopped the constant hiccups and trapped wind. After each session the girls were far more relaxed and not scrunched up in little balls screaming all day long, and managed to get some decent sleep, which in turn meant we did too. One of my girls was always sleeping and putting her head to one side, Sarah managed to work on this problem and she now doesn’t do this and her head is no longer flat on one side. Sarah gave me such great support and understanding of the problems my girls had. She offered different burping techniques which work fantastically. Anyone who has a baby I can’t recommend highly enough taking your little one for a session or two with Sara, she works wonders!”

Sorrel Harvey

“My little boy (14 months old) attended Sara’s clinic. We found Sara to be professional, detailed and extremely supportive with my little boys needs. She built rapport quickly and settled him. Would highly reccommend.”
