OSTEOPATH & SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPIST
Sophie Howe
I’m a compassionate osteopath with a deep interest in caring for my patients and getting the best long-term results for them. I have been keenly interested in the human body and how it functions since I was young. Osteopathy has encouraged me to deepen my understanding of the reasons behind the body’s dysfunctions, working out how they may have occurred, what led to those injuries and how I might help my patients on their road to recovery.
By using a combination of sports massage and osteopathy I will try to create the ideal conditions for musculoskeletal injury recovery. During my osteopathic and sports massage experience I have seen a variety of dysfunctions and have been able to personalise each treatment to the patient’s needs.
I worked for 2 years in the University College of Osteopathy’s private clinic in London Bridge, and providing osteopathic care in an NHS GPs surgery, a pregnancy clinic and a baby and children’s clinic. I have seen and treated a variety of patients from all walks of life, ranging from complicated pathologies to athletes. My duties in the clinic consisted of taking detailed case histories, examination of the musculoskeletal systems (with special testing if necessary), followed by an osteopathic functional and biomechanical approach to treatment if appropriate.
I have been a sports massage therapist since 2018, supporting my patients in overcoming their pain and helping them to restore their function.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sophie at St Albans who is absolutely brilliant. Kind, curious and thoughtful. Takes the time to understand, test, explain and ultimately fix!

Sophie is excellent. I highly recommend her. Her treatment of my bilateral frozen shoulder was effective from the first session!

Following a 3 month intense period of therapy for an injury to my lower back at alternative Clinics. I was recommended to PB and assigned Sophie. The time, expertise and commitment to explore my injury, my emotional health in relation to its impact on my daily life and my expected outcomes in our first session was insightful and reassuring. Three weeks later the pain has significantly reduced, my mobility has greatly improved and my mental health is so much more positive in relation to believing that a full recovery is possible. I am both impressed and appreciative of the care and expertise Sophie has demonstrated towards my physical and emotional needs. I thoroughly recommend Sophie without hesitation!

Sophie has been great in rehabbing my knee post-ACL surgery, by explaining the recovery timetable and the reason for the order of progression. Always happy to answer my questions as we went along and able to accelerate/decelerate my exercises as and when needed. Would recommend!

It’s so easy to ignore points of pain in our bodies and put it down to injury, age or overuse. I’m delighted with the results I’ve had after only 3 visits with Sophie – she’s made such a difference to the pain in my elbow and knees, she also explained why I had the problem and how to avoid it in future!

Best experience 5star I recommend perfect balance
