Since graduating with a degree in midwifery in 2002, I have worked as a midwife within the NHS for an extensive period of time having qualified as midwife in 2002. I qualified as an osteopath in 2008 and an IBCLC in 2013. I specialise in pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pains, breastfeeding issues and helping newborns and children following a traumatic birth using cranial osteopathy.
Areas of Speciality
- Information and advice on various treatment options for pregnancy, postnatal women and newborn babies
- Help and guidance around suitable techniques including osteopathy, massage, manipulation and exercise rehabilitation
- Medical Acupuncture Certificates
- Cranial Osteopathic Techniques
- Kinesio Taping and Strapping
- Advising on breastfeeding skills and techniques
- Ultrasound and K-laser for breastfeeding challenges
My three qualifications make me a unique professional within the midwifery and osteopathic field. I gained extensive experience within midwifery since qualifying in 2002, which makes me an ideal medical professional to consult. I trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) and gained a Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma in Naturopathic Medicine.
I have been a senior lecturer in Clinical Methods for osteopathic students at BCOM and have taught over an eight year period. I have also gained cranial osteopathic experience and I have studied foundation courses in this field. I have completed the ALSO course (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics), and I have studied with Deborah Robertson on the LEAARC-approved IBLCE course (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners). Breastfeeding challenges are an area I enjoy working with and have great success with women who previously felt like giving up.
I aim to have a very sensitive and friendly approach to treating clients and maintain my professional integrity at all times. My interests within the professional field include not only obstetrics, but also paediatrics, and I have also spent a short period of time at the Osteopathic Centre for Children on their MSc programme. Working at Watford General Hospital on the delivery suite and birth unit has allowed me to communicate and liaise with members of a multidisciplinary team. My experience is very specialised within the antenatal and immediate postnatal period.
My goals are to provide each client with individualised osteopathy care and I’m more than happy to share my knowledge and experience so that each and every person who enters my osteopathy clinic is empowered and motivated to become fitter, healthier and more aware of the functioning body.

I went to see Sara Randall as my baby had terrible colic. Sara’s treatment came as a miracle to us. I first heard about cranial osteopathy on the Internet but wasn’t sure if it was such a wonder cure as people claimed it to be. After the first session, we came home and there was no crying. She had made an improvement of about 60% I couldn’t believe it. After 2 more sessions, my little one was 100% better. Sara also helped me with breastfeeding which made me feel so much more confident and made it a lot easier for us. She has a wealth of knowledge in not only osteopathy but being a midwife and having children of her own really helps her understand exactly what you are going through. Sara had the answer for pretty much every question I asked and I ask a lot of questions. She is a Genius. I just wish I had seen her sooner.
We visited Sara Randall twice for cranial osteopathy at Perfect Balance as my young son (6 weeks old) suffered with extremely bad colic. Since the two sessions we have seen a huge improvement in him which has made him a much happier baby. We found Sara friendly and professional and her extensive knowledge has helped us in all aspects of his feeding and winding. We cannot thank her enough for how much she has helped us.
I took my 8 week old baby to see Sara Randall at the clinic as he was suffering from signs of colic, waking each night between 3am and 7am with stomach cramps and severe wind. I was not sure if cranial osteopathy would work but after weeks of no sleep and having tried all sorts of remedies, I wanted to give it a go. I was delighted when my son showed signs of improvement after only one session and after two sessions were completely relieved of the colic symptoms. Sara is extremely knowledgeable and professional and I would highly recommend this service to anyone whose baby is proving difficult and unsettled in the early months.
Perfect Balance Clinic has been a godsend to me. I first visited when I was 18 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. My back was once again ‘playing up’ and i felt at ease seeing osteopath Sara Randall, who was also a qualified Midwife. Within 4 app’s i was totally pain free! Sara not only gave me the help I required, but also lots of fab advice. I returned for a couple of sessions with my newborn daughter for cranial osteopathy with both Sara and Lauren – this def helped and their approach and manner was faultless. I attend a weekly Pilates class run by Slim (in my opinion, the GOD of Pilates!) who is helpful and very personal to YOUR needs. Love that class! Just recently, since the birth of my now, 1year old daughter who weighs a ton, i have been experiencing severe back/buttock pain. I have been seeing Carly. She has been AMAZING! She explains everything linked to your problems and does everything she can to advise and treat your problem. She has e-mailed me to check how my treatment has been and i can’t rate her enough. I mentioned that I would like some acupuncture and she was straight on to it organising to fit around my busy life! MAGIC HANDS! If you want a clinic that is professional yet personal and treat you as a person, not just your ailments, then Perfect Balance is the one!
I cannot recommend Sara Randall enough to new parents who have babies that can’t settle or new mothers’ who are finding breastfeeding challenging! We took our five week old baby to her as I had a difficult labour and, at 5 weeks, he was unsettled, had colic and was also finding it hard to have long feeds. Not only did she really help our baby as a cranial osteopath she also helped me with my breastfeeding technique. I had a different happy baby after the session and I felt so much more confident with my breastfeeding. We only needed one follow up session before she discharged us. Her advice, support and professionalism was amazing! I highly recommend her to new parents. Thank you so much Sara for all your help and advice!
I cannot recommend Perfect Balance highly enough, I visited them with my twin girls when they were just a few weeks old, they and in turn me and my husband had been struggling since they were born, they cried all the time and had a large number of colic like symptoms. Sara Randall was fantastic she assessed both girls to see if there was anything she could do to help. Being twins there wasn’t much room in the womb and my girls needed straightening out, this in turn released pressure on their little tummies, which stopped the constant hiccups and trapped wind. After each session the girls were far more relaxed and not scrunched up in little balls screaming all day long, and managed to get some decent sleep, which in turn meant we did too. One of my girls was always sleeping and putting her head to one side, Sara managed to work on this problem and she now doesn’t do this and her head is no longer flat on one side. Sara gave me such great support and understanding of the problems my girls had. She offered different burping techniques which work fantastically. Anyone who has a baby I can’t recommend highly enough taking your little one for a session or two with Sara, she works wonders!
