About
The fascination with human movement started way back when I was a teenager in the full swing of my dancing career. After a few years of involvement in various dance competitions and working backstage with some of the most talented performers in West End, I realised, that my true passion lays not so much with being on the stage, but in improving the performance of others and seeing their skillset grow.
It was then, when I decided to step away from competitive dancing and dedicate my time to studying human anatomy and biomechanics of movement-I dropped the glamourous heels and dresses and started a full-time career as a Personal Trainer.
Nearly a decade later and after having had a chance to work with some of the most challenging cases, as well as everyday people with the most challenging lives-I have gained a new-found appreciation for human body and mind. I have learned how to overcome tight schedules and those days when you just rather stay in bed, as well as how to help people, who wanted to push their physical performance beyond the expected.
I believe in an unbreakable connection between health and fitness and use that holistic approach to help my Clients achieve their goals faster, tailoring their programmes to their very personal needs. A strong, balanced, mobile body, is the healthy body I want for all of them. I work with clients dealing with Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Hypermobility and coming back from physical injuries. I have worked with some of the most complicated cases and helped people that others turned down. I believe everyone can make life-changing improvements, they just need someone knowledgeable to guide them through that journey.
Apparently, my personality is quite bearable too!

Qualifications
I am registered with Merrithew.com as a STOTT Pilates and ZEN-GA Instructor.
About
I have always loved movement and for many years pounded the gym participating in aerobics, LBT, Spinning etc. In fact you name it and I’ve probably done it! But I never paid any interest in Pilates. Now much later in my life, I wish I had a mini me sitting on my shoulder nudging me to give it a go!
My personal journey with Pilates started back in 2015. Like many of you I only started my Pilates journey because I was suffering from bad posture, a weak core and chronic pain. I immediately fell in love and wanted to understand the system in greater depth. So in 2018 I undertook the study of Pilates and the human body and in 2019 qualified as a STOTT Pilates Instructor.

About
I qualified as a Matwork Level 3 Pilates teacher with Body Control Pilates in London after 10 years of attending Pilates classes. I teach beginners and intermediate classes and I have completed my qualification as a Back4Good Practitioner which enables me to teach Healthy Back Classes and 1:1 private lessons. I work with my clients so they can become aware of their bodies and improve their technique. It is rewarding to see the improvement in their alignment, posture, strength and flexibility and in less pain as a result of injuries. I am constantly learning new ways to motivate, challenge and improve the daily life of clients so that they feel better physically and mentally but at the same time being sympathetic to their bodies by varying the exercises.

‘Monika is the best personal trainer. She is reliable and flexible and has helped me work towards my training goals. She also gives expert nutritional advice. Most importantly she makes training really enjoyable and adapts each session. You can’t go wrong with Mon!’
‘I cannot recommend Monika enough – I was a size 12, 33 year old gym virgin surviving on a diet of pasta pesto, red wine and walkers crisps. I met Monika as a promotion for the gym i joined, her first port of call was my diet, by following her advice I gave up sugar, pasta and alcohol, within two weeks I felt amazing and had lost 4% body fat! within 6 months on her tailored 2 hour weekly ex. programme. I was lean, fit and gorgeous! the biggest gain for me my energy levels, endurance and strength, I was up for anything my 6 year old son threw at me, I even learnt to do a headstand (which I can still do now!) Monika changed the way I looked at food and exercise, If you have the opportunity to work with her, take it and give it everything you have as it will actually change your life. ’
‘I am a very reluctant gym go-er but I as I get older, my body has changed over the last few years in my thirties and eating everything I want, no longer works. I have worked with Monika over the last few years on and off. The results I previously achieved were impressive to say the least. I need someone like Monika behind me, motivating me – Monika regularly checks in on me, whether I am stretching, moving and eating well and also reminding me of my targets. Monika is very much in tune with what I need – she works with my body shape and areas of concerns and is very well informed on the body’s biology so can tailor her training approach. I would highly recommend training with Monika.’
‘Monika has more than just helped me through the preparation for my wedding day. In the space of 3 months, through her guidance and assistance (and a lot of motivation) I have shed 2.5 stone in weight and looked and felt on top of the world. It is more than just ‘training’. Perfect Balance Wellbeing works on all the aspects of healthy lifestyle, making sure you truly get the results. Cannot recommend enough.’
‘Monika has been my family’s personal trainer for over a year. She is fantastic at working out what you need individually. She has made a huge difference to me as I suffered from constant back pain from a spinal fusion. She finds ways to improve posture and fitness while keeping it interesting. I would happily recommend anyone to work with her. Her knowledge on diet and nutrition has been invaluable and changed the way my family eats. Thank you so much for all your help, advice and motivation. ‘

‘I think the best thing about the sessions is your inventiveness as a trainer. I look forward to each one as a challenge and an adventure, never a chore. Your philosophy of trying to integrate body mobility with everyday life really resonates with me and helps me to see the work we do together as fundamental to my health as good nutrition. You surprise and engage me with the sessions- I feel as though I am getting a programme which is tailored to my own personal needs.
Other trainers I have worked with rely heavily on repetitive sets of movements which quickly become dull. With you I feel as if I am learning how best to move my body and it helps that you explain the reasoning behind the work we do. I feel as if I am developing a stronger core and for the first time in my life I have considered the importance of improving my balance.’
‘Through my job as a Stunt Performer I have spent the last 20 years of my life being smashed into things that don’t move, this has caused some injuries that have left me with restricted movement. I have always had to have my injuries managed (chronic & acute) to allow me to continue to work and haven’t had the time or understanding to move past the restrictions previous injuries left me with.
Since lockdown training with Nala has given me the knowledge and techniques to help improve my movement. Nala has bridged the gap between managing my injuries through a therapist and regaining optimal movement. The training has helped to increase my strength in a new and improved range of movement, freeing restrictions and helping me move more dynamically. It’s like stripping back everything I thought I knew to learn how my body should be moving. The power of Nala’s training sessions are in focusing on my body’s needs rather than its default pattern of what it likes to do, taking my movement to sometimes uncomfortable places to make me comfortable with optimal movement patterns, that will keep me injury free. Improvements from all the years of physical abuse my body has taken will take time but I am improving week in week out. I would highly recommend training with Nala to anyone that is interested in performing at their best.’
